These are a species of evergreen, ornamental grasses often referred to as sedges. They can vary in height from around 20cm anywhere up to 75cm and can be trimmed to suit your requirements. They are edible for most species of reptiles, and provide a good part of the diet of many grassland species. Colours can range from various shades of green, through to yellow, often with variegated leaves.
Native to semi-desert and grassland areas worldwide.
These plants are hardy and will thrive in hot, arid conditions. Water around the base of the plant, taking care not to saturate the soil. Plant in well drained substrate under full spectrum plant growth LED lighting in a vivarium. They can be planted in Tortoise Tables and in grassland or more arid vivariums scattered with rocks. These are edible for all reptiles, though some species will opt for more brightly coloured plants before eating these.
